Weekly Update May 27, 2020

May 27, 2020

I Welcome back to another update at Lamgo Farms! I’m so happy you’ve found your way to this page. It’s been a little while since my last update, so let’s just dive right into just what is happening on the farm, in the family and with our furry friends.

Thank you again for your patience waiting for us to sort out all of our lists. We love being able to allow owners to be double listed until puppies are born so everyone gets exactly what they dream of in a doodle.

However, with that does take some time once puppies are born. We just needed to hear back from everyone and now we have arrived at our current lists.

I’m so excited for everyone! These babies are absolutely stunning! I can’t wait for you to see them in person.

Speaking of seeing them in person…let’s take just a moment to talk Puppy picking. With the current Covid situation locally, we are continuing to conduct our puppy selection process virtually. What this means is that we will continue to post video on our Youtube channel beginning at week 3 through week 7.

Temperament testing is conducted at week 5 and emailed to you at week 6. With the help of those results along with our videos, pictures and a FaceTime appointment, we have had great results from our owners choosing their puppy.

Puppy picking will be done at week 7 and then puppies will go home at week 8. Each owner will have a puppy pick up appointment. I will bring out your puppy and puppy packet. We will go through your instructions and then you will be off. It will only take about 15-20 minutes.

I will be wearing a mask and gloves. Please let me know if you have any questions regarding picking and pick up with our new guidelines. For those who have not yet received your purchase contracts- I will be working on those in the order litters have been born. So I’ll finish up with those on Chaquita’s litter, then Rosita’s, Lina’s and so on. I will be emailing Welcome letters to those on Lina’s litter and anyone who did not yet receive one for Chaquita or Rosita. I will be sending out our suggested supply list right away so you can get started on gathering all of the goodies for your puppies.

Thank you all so much for waiting for me to get settled this week before posting. I have been busy the past few weeks working on my book that will be coming out this September. I had the opportunity to speak about it a little bit in an interview as a guest on Heart to Heart with Anna. Here is a link for those who have followed me for some time and want to know a little more about our journey with our son, William.

Yesterday we experienced getting our son’s drivers license road test, covid style. The great news is that he passed and we have another official driver at Lamgo Farms! Yay! Of course, we will have to wait for them to receive our packet in the mail and then he will be issued his drivers license with a much younger version of him on the picture.

I’m not sure we’ll ever get use to this, but we are rolling with the punches like so many of you.

This morning, my husband Phil had spinal surgery. Like I said, it’s been busy around here. For those who have been praying. . .he did excellent. He is now in bed for the night, but his pain level was at about a 3 by the end of the day. We are so very thankful for that report.

He will then undergo another 2 surgeries to complete this process. Although we have quite a few puppies right now, this is actually perfect timing. The kids and I are tending to the puppies as usual with socializing. We’re not missing a beat. I’m so happy they were able to fit him in while the puppies are young and clean up is easy. All of that changes in a few weeks.

Please continue to pray for healing for Phil! We are incredibly thankful! Ok, now on to just what is happening in each of your litters this week. . .

Here is what we have now

and what is coming up soon.

 2020 Breeding

Chaquita and Burton

English Mini Goldendoodles

Chaquita’s Photo Gallery

Chaquita delivered 3 girls and 6 boys today in Mother’s Day! Puppies will be going home Friday, July 3rd.

Chiquita has reds, peanut butter colors and some apricot.  They are from the English Creme line mixed with red poodles so we get that great blocky face, mostly wavy coats, some curly and all in the darker colors packaged in a miniature size

What’s Happening Now:

Thank you all so much for your patience waiting for this update. The puppies are doing great! These babies are so beautiful! I love that you can really see the English line coming out in them. Each puppy has a soft cotton wavy coat. They are still non shedding. Right now the puppies spend most of their day nursing and sleeping. They will begin to play a little around week 4.

All eyes and ears are now open and even this early, we are starting the potty training process. Puppies do not like to eliminate where they sleep. So at this stage, we place a potty pad right off of their bedding and they will crawl over to the pad to potty and then crawl back to bed with mama.

This week the puppies have received their first preventative deworming. This is also the stage that we begin our sensory socialization. Each puppy is held twice a day. We hold them on their backs, massage their paws and ears as well as touch their nose and rub their belly.

What Happens Next:

Week 3 is when we will have our first official Youtube video. You can subscribe to our Youtube channel at “Happenings at Lamgo Farms.” Right now video will be done on Fridays and uploaded either late Friday or early Saturday. This update will be updated on Monday’s. So if you are wanting to see video early, just subscribe to the Youtube channel, click the notification bell and it will notify you as soon as video is posted.

Many of you have not yet received your purchase contracts. Now that everyone is pretty much settled on litters, I will email your purchase contracts and attach our suggested supply list so you can start getting prepared for puppy to come home.

Week 4: I will email each of you directions to the farm as well as puppy picking instructions.

Week 5: Temperament testing will be conducted and emailed at the beginning of week 6 just before picking.

Snowflake and Burton

F1 English Mini Goldendoodles

Puppies are due May 21st.

Snowflake is a white English Creme Golden Retriever and Burton is our AKC Registered red Toy Poodle.

Puppies are a peanut butter or cream color with wavy coats that do not shed.  They tend to have more of the blocky English face. They mature between 25-35 lbs with an average of 27 lbs.

Snowflake is doing great! Puppies are still growing. Like humans, the due date is an estimate, so we are patiently waiting for these puppies to be born. We know each puppy must fully mature before mama will go into labor. So we can just assume the puppies are not quite ready to enter the world just yet. I’ll let you know as soon as she goes into labor. I’ll be posting on our Facebook page as she goes into labor as well as first puppy pictures.

What’s Happening Now:

Rosita and baies are all doing great! Right now their eyes and ears are still closed. But as we approach the 14 day old mark, we will start seeing those first eyes opening any day now. Right now they are nursing and sleeping all day to allow those tiny babies to grow.

What Happens Next:

At week 2 the puppies will receive their first preventative deworming. We will also start the potty training proccess. Yes, you read that right. At just 2 weeks old we begin this process. Lina/Banks F1 Standard Sheepadoodles

Lina is our Standard White Poodle. She is huge, but as sweet as can be. I’ve never met a more intelligent dog. Banks is our super sweet Old English Sheep Dog. He is the absolute perfect dream dog. Both are so very gentle around our young children. Together they make a beautiful Sheepadoodle.

” target=”_blank”>Lina’s Photo Gallery

Sheepadoodles are super smart so like any other of our doodles, they require training. This is a must. Don’t skip this step.

Lina delivered 6 boys and 3 girls on May 18th. All puppies and mama are doing great!

What’s Happening Now:

Right now the puppies are spending their time nursing and sleeping. Their eyes and ears are currently closed. They use their sense of smell to locate mama to nurse. Everyone in this litter has a curly coat. Right now I am seeing at least 3 males that will be a little smaller than the others. They will be more of a money size. The puppies have already seen our Vet and had their dew claws removed.

What Happens Next:

During week 2 we will see the eyes open and the ears will open as well. The puppies will receive their first deworming and we will post individual pictures both in our photo gallery as well as on our Facebook page.

Week 3 we will post their first weekly video which will be located on our Youtube channel, “Happenings at Lamgo Farms.” You can subscribe to our channel during this time. Just hit that notification bell to know when I upload video. I will also post a link right here each week. Right now video will be done on Friday’s and uploaded Saturday. Bella/Paddington

F2 English Mini/Medium

Bella has been inseminated. I’m a little concerned this could have been a false heat. Therefore, we will be doing an ultrasound as soon as time allows to confirm.

Bella is the daughter of our famous Moyen poodle, Brie and our famous English Creme Retriever, Bison. Bison’s breeding line is from Denmark. He is truly from champions. Bella is an f1 Standard Goldendoodle which we mix with our famous Paddington Bear who is red. Puppies in this litter have mostly wavy coats with maybe one or two curly. Some of the puppies end up with more of a wire texture. Basically a beautiful flowing non shedding coat. All others are a typical doodle wavy cotton texture. These puppies are what we call a mini/medium in that some stay the mini size around 35 lbs while others get around 45 lbs. We can tell this by week 5 when we do our testing. Colors are cream, apricot and some light red or peanut butter coloring. Bella usually has 10-11 puppies in a litter.

Litter on Hold until pregnancy is confirmed.

Her puppies have both the pocket and petite sizes in one litter. We will have puppies as small as 10 lbs and as large as 18 lbs. Her cycle is expected in June 2020. Puppies would go home around October 2020.

2021-22 Breeding Lineup

We will announce our 2021 line up in July.

FAQ:

What breedings to you have coming up? Please scroll back Up for current and upcoming litters (scroll down for more future litters) to the “Next Season’s Breeding Schedule” to see what will be bred and what picking spots are open.

How do I know if you have any open picking spots in a particular litter? Scroll  until you see your desired litter.  Any available picking spots will be listed as “open.”

How do I reserve a picking spot? Complete the contact form located at the end of each litter.  Then make your deposit payment by choosing the Buy Now button under the litter in which you wish to reserve your picking spot.  For litters not yet listed please Email me at goldendoodles@lamgofarms.com with “deposit” in the subject line.  Note which litter and number on the picking spot you prefer that is listed as open. Include your name, mailing address, phone number and any preferences you may have for your puppy.

Are Deposits refundable?  Unfortunately, due to the high demand of our puppies, we no longer refund deposits for any reason.  If for some reason we do not have enough puppies born to provide for every owner- your deposit can be transferred to your next desired litter.  The $250 is a picking spot reservation.  This also helps us weed out those who are not serious about taking home one of our puppies.

Do you have any paperwork we need to complete? Since our puppies are Reserved almost a year in advance- we will spend that time getting to know each of you and will be offering the proper education to make sure you are fully prepared to bring home your puppy.  When placing a deposit, please include your name, email address, mailing address, phone number and any preferences you may have.  Once you place your deposit, I will email you your purchase contract which also serves as your receipt.  You will need to sign and email this back to me. You will also receive a suggested supply list as well as our Health Warranty.  The Health Warranty is not due back until 30 days after you take your puppy home.

Do you choose the puppy for us or can we choose our own puppy?  You will be asked to visit the Farm at your puppy picking appointment and will be given an hour to choose your puppy.  The choice is yours.  Please understand that we cannot guarantee gender availability.  When it comes to our donated therapy/service dogs, we will choose the top two for you and then you can make your choice out of those.

Can we visit Lamgo Farms for allergy testing or just to see the dogs?  Every puppy owner that has placed a deposit is invited to the farm between weeks 5 and 6 for a puppy picking appointment.  If unable to attend- we can send extra video and pictures or FaceTime the appointment.  Unfortunately- we do not allow other visitors due to the health risk for our puppies and dogs as well as for the safety of our family.  If you wish to have allergy testing- it’s best to find a doodle owner and see if you can tolerate that particular generation of doodle.  We have several pictures, video as well as slide shows showing our grounds, parents and past puppies.  You may also visit our Facebook page and join our open forum to communicate with any of our past owners about their experience with Lamgo Farms.  We welcome your questions!

Do you do temperament testing?  Yes, all puppies are tested at week 5 and the results are emailed prior to your puppy picking appointment.

Do you take weekly pictures of your puppies?  Yes, The first week is simply a group photo but individual pictures are taken weekly starting at week 2.  Video is taken weekly starting at week 3 and concludes at week 7.

Are your puppies socialized?  Yes!  We now have 8 children.  Ages 23, 19, 17, 15, 12, 3, 2 and 16 months old.  We homeschool and are able to hold, socialize using sensory stimulation as well as play with and cuddle your puppy several times a day which prepares them for any home environment.

When do the puppies come home?  Puppies are ready to go home on the Saturday between weeks 7 and 8.

Do you have a Health Warranty?  Yes, Lamgo Farms has a 1 year warranty over hips and eyes.

Do you Health Test your Breeding dogs?  Some are OFA tested but not all.  After consulting an Animal Orthopedic doctor- we learned that these tests do not offer the assurance that puppies will not have hip issues.  A good line of breeding stock along with cross breeding and proper care of the puppy will protect and prevent hip issues.

Do you allow boarding after the release date of the puppy?  Unfortunately, we are unable to keep your puppy past the pick up date.  You will be notified within 24 hours after the birth as to your picking appointment time as well as puppy pick up date/time/information.  This will allow you at least 7 weeks to make pick up arrangements.  Pick up is on a Saturday a 10 am.  We do sometimes offer a Friday pick up by appointment.  Lamgo Farms is closed on Sundays and cannot do picking appointments or pick up appointments at that time.

Do you fly puppies out of state?  At this time, we only fly pet cargo during the months of November through May.  Our summer months are too hot to fly.  Flying is an additional $450.  We use both Flight Nannies (for dogs that stand no taller than 11 inches) and pet cargo flights.  We can fly during the off season with Flight Nannies only.

What is included in the price of the puppy?  An awesome Lamgo Farms PUPPY. . . complete puppy packet:  Crate, potty training bells, nutritional supplement, toys, treats, scented blanket from littermates, training material, folder with health records, pedigree, etc, emailed photo collage of your puppy as well as a 10 lb bucket of premium puppy food that will last a few months.

Do you have a Spay/Neuter clause?  Yes.  All of our puppies are sold with our contract stating all males must be neutered before 5 months old and females must be spayed before 6 months old.  We no longer sell for breeding purposes. Puppies not fixed by the requested time frames will void the Health Warranty.

What sets Lamgo Farms apart from other Goldendoodle breeders?  First, having 14 years experience in breeding Goldendoodles- we have learned quite a bit about what to breed to create the perfect doodle for every coat type and personality desired as well as our dedication to each litter.  Living on a farm and homeschooling allows us to constantly lay hands on the puppies and give them the ultimate care they need and you desire in a breeder.  We care greatly for our puppies and owners and strive to give that personal touch to every one and puppy that comes our way.  We also trust God to give us the perfect puppy you desire.  We pray over every breeding and puppy and are genuinely blessed with the ability to raise these fluffy friends.
