Weekly Update September 9, 2019

September 9, 2019

Welcome to this week’s update at Lamgo Farms!  I’m so happy you found your way here and can’t wait to tell you a little more about our farm, family and our little furry friends!

Right now I’m watching so many of my friends on social media posting pictures of everything FALL.  I’ve even seen people wearing long sleeves! I’ll just put it out there honestly. . .I’m jealous!

The biggest thing I miss about Colorado is having four seasons.  Well, I should correct myself a little because Texas does have four seasons.  We have bitter cold humid freeze you to the bone winter for about 4 weeks and then we have our 3 1/2 weeks of Spring, about 10 months of summer and then we get those 2 days of Fall. And on those 2 days, we will wear every fall outfit in the closet.

Yes, I miss the cooler days, but just seeing all of those pictures, I’m falling for it myself.  The A/C is cranked up and I’ve already started planning my fall menu, fall decorating, and I’ve even considered taking my hair down from it’s permanent pony tail.

So what does this have to do with doodles? Well, they are cooler weather guys themselves.  When that first fall breeze comes down from up North, the doodles go outside and run and run and run!  So get your final summer cuts now and then let those coats grow out, because Doodles love to run with the wind blowing that long coat!

Speaking of those long coats.  I’m always asked about what kind of grooming products I use on the puppies when people come to pick them up.  They smell so good! Well, we have been approved to sell you those products directly!  They will be up in our online store soon!  Until then, you can check out our Custom and personalized Elevated feeders.  Now that puppies are going home and the work load is thinning out a bit, I’ll be able to add our newest products to the store at wwwLamgoLand.com.

We are excited to have our puppy picking for two of our litters this weekend!  We are always praying for each of our families and for our puppies to find that perfect fit for them.  Thank you for praying along with us.

Now, let’s scroll on down to see just what is happening in each of your litters. . .

What’s Happening Now:

This week Temperament testing should have been received along with Puppy picking instructions.  Directions have also been emailed.  Please let me know if you did not receive all three of these emails.

These puppies are so chunky and playful!  Two of my favorite things.  I know everyone has their preference, but in my opinion, they are all equally awesome and I wouldn’t be surprised if some of you will have a hard time choosing.  Hopefully you have one that has been on your mind from the beginning and you are just waiting to meet them.

The puppies have received their first set of shots and have done well with them.  Your next set needed will be noted in an email after picking.

Picking is this Saturday!  For those choosing long distance- I will update you as puppies are chosen and will text you at your appointment time.

What Happens Next:

After puppies are chosen we will introduce them too their crates with a buddy.  Once they are acclimated, we will move them to their own crate with their scented item.  Week 7 is all about crate training and learning to spend a little time away from the group.  Of course, socializing will continue.

You will receive 2 more emails.  One will be reading material which will have some training techniques, our crate training procedures, our schedule and a little more information on our vaccinations so you can relay that information to your Vet as you set up your first appointments. The next email will be your puppy pick up information which has all of the contents of your puppy packet and your puppy’s pedigree along with what to bring to pick up your puppy.

If your puppy will be flying- I will email that information separately.

Ok, this one is a little late. . .I’ll work on invoices asap!

Invoices will be emailed this week so you have them prior to puppy picking.  Checks are accepted at picking.  For those choosing long distance and would like to pay your balance via check- please message me.  Balances can also be paid via credit card, venmo or cash at puppy pick up.  Checks, cashiers checks and PayPal that takes time to clear are no longer accepted at puppy pick up.  Let me know if you have any questions.

We will be having our picking for this litter at week 6 on September 14th and then pick up at week 8, September 28th at 11am.

  1. Walls- Saturday, Sept 14 9:30am- prefers the purple girl
  2. Hayward- Saturday, Sept 14 10:30am- prefers the blue girl
  3. Howe- Sept 14 11am- interested in the pink girl if she is the remaining girl

What’s Happening Now:

These babies are so sweet and tiny! They are a week younger than Sanjay’s so they are still a little on the shy side.  We will see more outgoing babies this Saturday for puppy picking.  Right now we are working on them spending a little more time away from momma during the day.  They are still on Gruel and once we see some teeth we will introduce them to hard kibble.  Because Beans is a smaller sire than Paddington- some of Jasmine’s puppies are smaller than our Sanjay puppies. We still see some great similarities since Jasmine and Paddington have the same mama- Mrs. Beasley.

The puppies will be just a few days shy of 6 weeks when we have our picking this Saturday. Right now we are just working on socializing them and letting them play.

Each of you should have received directions to the farm, Temperament testing results and puppy picking instructions.  Please let me know if you have not received everything.

After puppy picking, you will receive 2 more emails.  “Reading Material” and “Puppy Pick up Instructions.” The reading material has some training techniques, Our crate training information along with our puppy schedule, and information on the vaccinations given so you can set up your first Vet appointment. Your puppy pick up email will have the contents of your puppy packet along with pedigree and what to bring when you pick up your puppy.

What’s Happening Next:

The Monday after puppy picking, your puppy will have it’s first set of shots.  We’ll let you know how they handle them.  Then we will start your puppy in it’s crate with a buddy to get acclimated.  Once settled in, we will let your puppy have his own crate with his scented item.  Then it’s all about crate training and learning a few things before going home.

We will be having our picking for this litter at week 6 on September 14th and then pick up at week 8, September 28th at 12 noon.

  1. Warner/Thierfelder- 1pm- female preference
  2. LF- 2pm- curly male preference
  3. Rainwater- female preference- 3pm
  4. Vohra- 4pm- long distance pick (I will text you when we are ready to facetime.)

Brie and Duke F1bb Mini/Medium

Brie delivered 3 girls and 2 boys on August 14.

What’s Happening Now:

As you’ll see, the video is not yet posted for this litter.  I will have this up in a few days.  I just simply ran out of time today. They are more than just a sack of potatoes laying around!  My girls always refer to puppies that just lay there as potatoes.  They are active and moving around more and more.  The dark blue boy is HUGE and the lime green girl is little.  Everyone else is the regular mini size.  So anyone looking for a medium would love blue boy.

Right now they are still nursing and eating gruel.  They have tried some hard kibble but still don’t have teeth- so they’ll stay with the gruel for another 2 weeks as we begin the weaning process then.

My older girls are spending time socializing them since they are large but still a little too young for me to trust the toddlers with them.

What Happens Next:

Next week during week 4, I will email directions to the farm so those of you planning to come for puppy picking can plan your trip.  If you are flying or wish to choose long distance, please let me know so we can plan accordingly.  For long distance picks, we can do a FaceTime appointment or send extra video.

During week 5 we will have our temperament testing and I will email your puppy picking instructions.  Once puppies are chosen, I will forward some reading material, information about vaccinations and when to schedule your first vet visit.  I will also send puppy pick up instructions which includes all the contents of your puppy packet and what to bring when you come to take your puppy home.

The F1bb generation is our most hypoallergenic and perfect for those with severe allergies and asthma.  Both wavy and curly coats although the majority are curly.

We are doing picking and pick up on the same day for this litter.  This is a change from our original plan so please take a look at the new times.  The new date is Saturday, October 12.  Puppies will be chosen and going home on the same day.

All times are Central Standard.

  1. Martens- 10am
  2. Clark-11am
  3. Riddick- 12pm
  4. open- 4pm
  5. open- 5pm

Past Snowflake/Burton Puppies:

Lilly/Paddington

F2b Red Mini Goldendoodles

Lilly has completed her inseminations.  Her uterus is growing but we’ve decided to have an ultrasound to confirm her pregnancy to see if we can see what size of litter we’re having.  Ultrasound isn’t super reliable for counting puppies as reflections can be mistaken for more puppies, but we can’t do an X-ray this early when the puppies are developing.  We’ll keep you posted.  Due dates will be around mid October  with puppies going home around November 30. Colors are medium red with some white markings.

Chaquita and Burton F1b Mini Goldendoodles

Rosita and Paddington’s F2b Mini Goldendoodles

This is a new first time breeding.  Rosita is a Snowflake and Burton daughter.  There is some English in this line from Snowflake.  We love the English lines as they are more laid back and tend to really be helpful too our Returning Veterans with PTSD.  We will wait another week to confirm pregnancy.  Pictures of Rosita coming soon.  We expect all shades of red.

Lina/Banks F1 Standard Sheepadoodles

Lina and Banks have completed the breeding process.  Now we will wait to see if she actually ovulated.  We will confirm pregnancy in 3 weeks.  We are not accepting deposits until pregnancy is confirmed.  Puppies will go home in December if this is successful.  Lina usually has 6 puppies in a litter.  The first pick will say here at Lamgo Farms for breeding.  The second pick will be on hold for an owner who passed up their first pick of our Poppins Sheepadoodle litter last year.

Parker’s F1bb Pocket Goldendoodles –  Parker will be bred to Beans or one of our F1b Pockets.  We have now retired Squishy.

I know, it’s so hard to wait, especially when the timing is off from planned.  At this time, we are watching Parker for impending heat.  The higher temperatures have always affected cycles.  It was during our last little cold front that our other females also behind finally cycled.  For those unable to wait, we will have at least one, maybe two puppies available between our Jasmine and Sanjay litters.  Sanjay is Parker’s sister.  These are petites. Hang in there!!!  Right now it looks as if we may have puppies going home for Christmas in this litter.

At this time, I’m closing this list for further deposits until after our Spring breeding is complete.

FAQ:

What breedings to you have coming up? Please scroll back Up for current and upcoming litters (scroll down for more future litters) to the “Next Season’s Breeding Schedule” to see what will be bred and what picking spots are open.

How do I know if you have any open picking spots in a particular litter? Scroll  until you see your desired litter.  Any available picking spots will be listed as “open.”

How do I reserve a picking spot? Complete the contact form located at the end of each litter.  Then make your deposit payment by choosing the add to cart button.  For litters not yet listed please Email me at goldendoodles@lamgofarms.com with “deposit” in the subject line.  Note which litter and number on the picking spot you prefer that is listed as open. Include your name, mailing address, phone number and any preferences you may have for your puppy.  Then go to our pricing/payment page at LamgoFarms.com to place your deposit of $250.  There is a $5 PayPal processing fee that will be added to your total.

Are Deposits refundable?  Unfortunately, due to the high demand of our puppies, we no longer refund deposits for any reason.  If for some reason we do not have enough puppies born to provide for every owner- your deposit can be transferred to your next desired litter.  The $250 is a picking spot reservation.  This also helps us weed out those who are not serious about taking home one of our puppies.

Do you have any paperwork we need to complete? Since our puppies are Reserved almost a year in advance- we will spend that time getting to know each of you and will be offering the proper education to make sure you are fully prepared to bring home your puppy.  When placing a deposit, please include your name, email address, mailing address, phone number and any preferences you may have.  Once you place your deposit, I will email you your purchase contract which also serves as your receipt.  You will need to sign and email this back to me. You will also receive a suggested supply list as well as our Health Warranty.  The Health Warranty is not due back until 30 days after you take your puppy home.

Do you choose the puppy for us or can we choose our own puppy?  You will be asked to visit the Farm at your puppy picking appointment and will be given an hour to choose your puppy.  The choice is yours.  Please understand that we cannot guarantee gender availability.  When it comes to our donated therapy/service dogs, we will choose the top two for you and then you can make your choice out of those.

Can we visit Lamgo Farms for allergy testing or just to see the dogs?  Every puppy owner that has placed a deposit is invited to the farm between weeks 5 and 6 for a puppy picking appointment.  If unable to attend- we can send extra video and pictures or FaceTime the appointment.  Unfortunately- we do not allow other visitors due to the health risk for our puppies and dogs as well as for the safety of our family.  If you wish to have allergy testing- it’s best to find a doodle owner and see if you can tolerate that particular generation of doodle.  We have several pictures, video as well as slide shows showing our grounds, parents and past puppies.  You may also visit our Facebook page and join our open forum to communicate with any of our past owners about their experience with Lamgo Farms.  We welcome your questions!

Do you do temperament testing?  Yes, all puppies are tested at week 5 and the results are emailed prior to your puppy picking appointment.

Do you take weekly pictures of your puppies?  Yes, The first week is simply a group photo but individual pictures are taken weekly starting at week 2.  Video is taken weekly starting at week 3 and concludes at week 7.

Are your puppies socialized?  Yes!  We now have 8 children.  Ages 22, 18, 17, 15, 11, 3, 2 and 8 months old.  We homeschool and are able to hold, socialize using sensory stimulation as well as play with and cuddle your puppy several times a day which prepares them for any home environment.

When do the puppies come home?  Puppies are ready to go home on the Saturday between weeks 7 and 8.

Do you have a Health Warranty?  Yes, Lamgo Farms has a 1 year warranty over hips and eyes.

Do you Health Test your Breeding dogs?  Some are OFA tested but not all.  After consulting an Animal Orthopedic doctor- we learned that these tests do not offer the assurance that puppies will not have hip issues.  A good line of breeding stock along with cross breeding and proper care of the puppy will protect and prevent hip issues.

Do you allow boarding after the release date of the puppy?  Unfortunately, we are unable to keep your puppy past the pick up date.  You will be notified within 24 hours after the birth as to your picking appointment time as well as puppy pick up date/time/information.  This will allow you at least 7 weeks to make pick up arrangements.  Pick up is on a Saturday a 10 am.  We do sometimes offer a Friday pick up by appointment.  Lamgo Farms is closed on Sundays and cannot do picking appointments or pick up appointments at that time.

Do you fly puppies out of state?  At this time, we only fly pet cargo during the months of November through May.  Our summer months are too hot to fly.  Flying is an additional $450.  We use both Flight Nannies (for dogs that stand no taller than 11 inches) and pet cargo flights.  We can fly during the off season with Flight Nannies only.

What is included in the price of the puppy?  An awesome Lamgo Farms PUPPY. . . complete puppy packet:  Crate, potty training bells, nutritional supplement, toys, treats, scented blanket from littermates, training material, folder with health records, pedigree, etc, emailed photo collage of your puppy as well as a 10 lb bucket of premium puppy food that will last a few months.

What is your pricing? Sales Tax is included in the price.

Goldendoodles (Standard, Medium and miniature): $1,950

Goldendoodles (Petite): $2,100

Goldendoodles (Pocket): $2,400

Do you offer discounts: Yes, we offer a $300 discount for our Military owners.  Verification of service is required.  Once a year we also offer donation dogs for those medically requiring therapy or service dogs.  Please email me your circumstance and we will pray and ask God for the answer.  We have a medical form that needs to be completed by a doctor to qualify for service needs.

Do you have a Spay/Neuter clause?  Yes.  All of our puppies are sold with our contract stating all males must be neutered before 5 months old and females must be spayed before 6 months old.  We no longer sell for breeding purposes. Puppies not fixed by the requested time frames will void the Health Warranty.

What sets Lamgo Farms apart from other Goldendoodle breeders?  First, having 14 years experience in breeding Goldendoodles- we have learned quite a bit about what to breed to create the perfect doodle for every coat type and personality desired as well as our dedication to each litter.  Living on a farm and homeschooling allows us to constantly lay hands on the puppies and give them the ultimate care they need and you desire in a breeder.  We care greatly for our puppies and owners and strive to give that personal touch to every one and puppy that comes our way.  We also trust God to give us the perfect puppy you desire.  We pray over every breeding and puppy and are genuinely blessed with the ability to raise these fluffy friends.

Pictures and Video:  When we do have puppies. . .Pictures will be uploaded in our photo gallery at photos.lamgofarms.com and on our Facebook page.  Video will be located on our Youtube channel at Happenings at lamgo Farms.  Weekly pictures will start at week 2 and Video will start to be taken when puppies are three weeks old.
