Weekly Update June 19, 2025

June 19, 2025

Welcome back to another UPDATE at Lamgo Farms! I’m so happy you’ve found your way here to see just what is happening with our Family, Farm and Furry Friends.

Well we have now fallen into the hot Texas summer. And you all know how I feel about that. To avoid the inevitable. . .I decided to distract myself by getting diagnosed with pneumonia.

So if you’ve noticed my absence on social media- that is the reason. I was very sick for about 4 days and am now bouncing back. I’m just incredibly tired now.

As I take life at a slower pace right now- I am so thankful for my husband and children who have been by my side in every day farm and puppy life. So when one of us has to slow down, there is always someone ready to step in to make sure we maintain quality puppy and lamb protocol so that after 20 plus years we are still turning out excellent products.

Now back to summer. . .

Just a few little reminders for those who have already taken home your doodle and for those who will be taking home a little one during this warm season:

  • Remember puppies cannot regulate their temperature so on extremely hot days over 90 degrees- puppy needs to only go outside to eliminate or needs to spend outside time early in the morning or in the evening when it cools down.
  • Be aware of the temperature of surfaces. If the ground is too hot for you to walk barefoot, then it’s too hot for puppy. Stick to grassy surfaces when going for walks while hot.
  • Water needs to be available at all times. Puppies can dehydrate fairly quickly.
  • Monitor and assist puppy around bodies of water. Show them the way out and make sure puppy has had all sets of shots and wormings prior to entering natural bodies of water. I have an entire post on the swimming doodle regarding water safety.
  • Clip that coat down to about 3″ to give puppy more ventilation without cutting it too low where the heat can do damage.

Ok, I’ll keep up all of the summer and seasonal tips for our newest owners just now embarking on this exciting new adventure!

Now, enough about the heat. . .let’s scroll on down to see just what we have available and waht we have planned for this season on the farm.
